BOARD OF DIRECTORS
June 26, 2015

Roll Call: Chip Glennon presiding, Kim Murphy, Larry Pratt, Dave Hinck, Dr. Nicely, Chris Shipley and Jim Eldridge. Guests: David Pavlich, Amanda Lubinski and Shawna Searcy by phone.

Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Kim Murphy and seconded by Chris Shipley to approve the minutes of the June 12, 2015 meeting as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report: Dave Hinck reported the following bank balance for the Foundation Accounts:
NFI-Operating Acct. $ 3.578.75
NFI-Home Delivered Meals $ 4,943.15
NFI-Taxi Service Fund $14,815.32
NFI-Nutrition Center $19,304.19
NFI-Kearney Historic Museum $ 2,940.00
NFI-Kitchen Fund $ 6,306.56

Dave Hinck said we received a check from METAP for $1,055.00.

A motion was made by Kim Murphy and seconded by Chris Shipley to accept the Treasurer’s Report and pay the bills as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS

SENIOR CENTER Shawna Searcy said the Clay County Senior Center quarterly report is due July 10th. She said the Clay County Senior Center yearly funding request is due by July 7th.

NEW BUSINESS
SENIOR CENTER Dave Hinck said he had visited Ken Meinert about the Senior Center. He said Ken was concerned that they have had air conditioning problems and he is worried about maintenance on the building and particularly the roof.

Dave Hinck said we always have money left in maintenance so he encouraged him to make repairs as needed. Shawna Searcy said she would be meeting with him about the reports so she would talk to him about maintenance.

Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Kim Murphy and seconded by Jared Wolters to approve the minutes of the May 22, 2015 meeting as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

Dave Hinck reported we had received a dividend check from Missouri Employers for $26.64. He presented bills from Missouri Employers for work comp for $2,328, a bill from Ken Meinert for $1,350 and a bill from Durham Bus Service for $2,038.75 for May and June.

A motion was made by Larry Pratt and seconded by Joe Wilmes to accept the Treasurer’s Report and pay the bills as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS

SENIOR CENTER Shawna Searcy said she would be submitting the quarterly request to Clay County Senior Board for funding for the Senior Center. She said it is due July 1st.

Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Kim Murphy and seconded by Jim Eldridge to approve the minutes of the April 24, 2015 meeting as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

Dave Hinck presented a bill from Ken Meinert for $1,350 and a bill from Doug Walter for $150 for doing 1099s. He said he would check to be sure we haven’t already paid the bill to Doug Walter.

A motion was made by Kim Murphy and seconded by Joe Wilmes to accept the Treasurer’s Report and pay the bills as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS

SENIOR CENTER: Shirley Zimmerman reported that Richard Brown is in real poor health and has been in the hospital for couple weeks. She said Ken Meinert is looking to see if anyone else would be willing to fill his position on the Board if he has to step down.

Shawna Searcy said Angela Gudde, who helps out at the Old Firehouse is going to be doing some extra programs at the Senior Center.

HARRY ARNOTE: Shawna Searcy said she had submitted the Harry Arnote grant application to purchase food carriers for Meals on Wheels.

JOHN BENNETT SCHOLARSHIP: Shawna Searcy said they have picked the recipients for the John Bennett Scholarship and she will be presenting them at the awards May 12, 2015.

SENIOR TRANSPORTATION UPDATE: Shawna Searcy said she has met with Jenny Hayes and some of the Kearney Enrichment Council and they will be talking to KCATA SENIOR TRANSPORTATION UPDATE and MARC about the possibility of getting some type of funding for transportation in Kearney for seniors.

Dave Hinck said we received a $17,482.50 quarterly check from Clay County Senior Board.

A motion was made by Kim Murphy and seconded by Dr. Nicely to approve the Treasurer’s Report as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE: David Pavlich reported that there would be a short meeting after the meeting today to select the recipients for the scholarships.

SENIOR CENTER: Joe Wilmes said he wanted to report that he had talked to a person whose Mother goes to the Senior Center and they are very pleased with the Center and the way it is ran.

NEW BUSINESS

GARDNER CAPITAL RESOLUTION: Chip Glennon said Larry Butcher had gotten the Resolution with Gardner Capital back to him and we need to approve signing the Agreement.

A motion was made by Kim Murphy and seconded by Jim Eldridge to authorize signing the Operating Agreement with Gardner Capital. The motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS

CCSS QUARTERLY REPORT: Shawna Searcy said she had completed the Clay County Senior Services quarterly report and would be submitting it today.

ARNOTE GRANT: Shawna Searcy said she would be submitting the Harry Arnote Grant next week. We don’t know how much money we will be granted.

SENIOR TRANSPORTATION UPDATE: Shawna Searcy said she is still working on the senior transportation issues within the City limits. She said Ken Meinert is beginning to get several requests also. She said she would be looking to see if there are any grants that we could attempt to secure.
