Welcome

Kearney Area Development Council (KADC) was formed in 1994 to promote economic opportunity and to improve the qualify of life in the Kearney area.

In its brief existence, KADC assisted Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative in selecting Kearney to be their corporate headquarters at Innovation, a planned industrial and business community developed by KADC.

Located on Interstate 35, just 25 miles north of downtown Kansas City, Kearney is being discovered by new residents and businesses desiring a small town atmosphere with quick and easy access to such metropolitan amenities as KCI and the Truman Sports Complex.

The Council created the Kearney Community Foundation, a 501 (c) 3. organization, to serve the Kearney Community (as defined by the Kearney School District boundaries) for the purpose of identifying human needs within the community, to strive to relieve them, and develop related programs to keep focus on systems and structures to continue such relief. The not-for-profit received 501c3 designation in 1999.

Board meetings for the Kearney Area Development Council and Kearney Community Foundation are held the second and fourth Fridays of each month at 7:00 A.M., in the basement of Kearney City Hall. We invite any interested individual to attend our meetings or become a member.
